Jennie Lee is a Kailua-based yoga therapist, who has specialized in the healing benefits of classical yoga and meditation for over 17 years. She is passionate about helping her students cultivate a sense of self-awareness and identity on their spiritual journey. Furthermore, she feels inspired by watching people remember their true selves, let go of damaging beliefs and/or realizing a long-held dream has come true. When she’s not practicing yoga, Lee enjoys roaming O‘ahu, surfing and hiking with her husband and teenage son.
True Yoga: Practicing with the Yoga Sutras for Happiness & Spiritual Fulfillment
Using these ancient writings as guidance, Jennie Lee expertly shares her yoga practices to help combat anxiety, depression, grief, post-traumatic stress, attention issues, challenging relationship dynamics and more. Her book blends yoga traditions with real-world experiences, which is relevant and useful in today’s modern society. She relies on the principles of the Yoga Sutras to navigate through times of difficulty and how to remain happy regardless. Last year her book was nominated, “2016 USA Best Book Awards Finalist in Spirituality: Inspirational Category”.
“By drawing on real-world trials and tribulations, Lee brings the Sutras to life. She explores how they might help with the tedium of sitting in traffic; the sensory overload from too much time on the internet; the breakup of a marriage; or the stress and tension of raising a family while working full time.” –Yoga U Online Review
“Great for yoga teacher training! As a yoga teacher involved in teacher training programs, I will make this book a welcome new addition to our required reading list.” –Amazon Reviews
